Here are a few pointers on how to care for your piece so that you get the most out of it. For starters, you will need the proper hair care products. On www.wigs.com, we offer all the required synthetic hair care products. The standard required products are: 1. Wide Tooth Comb 2. Renew Shampoo 3. Leave-in Conditioner 4. Wig Head Stand DETANGLING: Using a wide-tooth comb to section off the hair. Mist each section lightly with a conditioning spray before you detangle. Make sure to use products formulated for synthetic wigs for easy detangling like the Leave-in Conditioner by BeautiMark for easy detangling. Once the hair is sprayed, gently detangle each section using the comb. CLEANSING: This would need to be done every 6-8 wears Keep in mind you can only use synthetic care products on synthetic hair and that synthetic products should be washed to avoid tangling and product build-up. When washing your synthetic hair, DO NOT SOAK THE HAIR. You always want to wash your hair under a running faucet with room or cool temperature water. DO NOT USE WARM OR HOT WATER. Apply a half dollar size amount of BeautiMark Shampoo to your synthetic hair, gently lather the hair and cap and then rinse till the water is clear. Then pat dry (do not rub) the synthetic hair. Follow up, by using the BeautiMark Leave-in Conditioner, remembering not to get the conditioner on the roots as applying conditioner on the roots or knots will loosen the hairs. While the BeautiMark Conditioner is coating the hair, you want to use your wide tooth comb and your fingers to begin detangling and reshaping your piece. Again, detangle the hair starting from the bottom of the hair and working your way to the roots. While the hair is on the wig stand take the opportunity to detangle and style it with your wide toothcomb once more (if needed). You can now leave it to air dry overnight. MAINTAINING: In regards to keeping the piece from tangling again. we recommend the use of a daily detangler. Tension and friction are two of the main causes of frizzing and can be avoided with proper care and maintenance. Prolong the life of your synthetic fibers by using products designed to restore the vitality of your wig every day. This is especially important with medium to long-length wigs or hairpieces.
